Rapture of the Deep Being an Account of the Further Adventures of Jacky Faber Soldier Sailor Mermaid Spy Bloody Jack Adventures L A Meyer Books
Jacky's adventures on the Spanish Main, and being the first deep sea diver using an early version of a diving bell.As a straight up adventure it was OK, but as a Jacky Faber adventure it just didn’t reach the high bar that the earlier books had achieved. The enemy this time is the Spanish instead of the French and of course always the evil plotters of the English intelligent service are back and after honor and her life once again. This formula has been used a number of times by this author and it’s starting to become predictable bringing about some disappointment in me, with my skyhigh expectations. We are also introduced to a new male rogue character this red devil called Flaco, I don’t recall those Mediterranean adventures that are alluded to as their backstory but it must be difficult to write an adventure series as good as this one and not make a few mistakes with the timeline. I mean it would have been nice to know the history of this pirate captain back about book three under the Jolly Roger where I think they first met. Can’t recall reading that encounter but maybe I’m wrong hard to believe I’m on book seven in this series. A series that holds my interest this long is pretty good. Anyway another couple of villains bite the dust. Jacky escapes off to her next adventure riding high having spent half of this book wearing the first bikini (I think) and another starkers moment that will undoubtedly go down in naval lore. So while I enjoyed the book it’s just not in the same league as the others in this series so going give it a three stars this time.

Rapture of the Deep Being an Account of the Further Adventures of Jacky Faber Soldier Sailor Mermaid Spy Bloody Jack Adventures L A Meyer Books Reviews
This is one of the late books in an enjoyable series about young woman experiencing all sorts of adventures mostly centered at sea. The books grow in complexity and maturity of the protagonist as they progress through the series. The vendor was fast and packed the book well.
L.A. Meyer does it again! The latest adventure for Jacky Faber is nothing short of amazing. The adventures this young woman has is eye opening and makes you wonder just how does she get herself into these "messes". You see the reappearance of some minor characters such as Lord Richard Allen and Flaco Jiminez, both of whom come to Jacky's aid. Flashby also returns, much to Jacky's dismay. Jacky spends time in the Keys as well as Havana and encounters a nasty Spanish sailor. She seems to make friends (as well as enemies)everywhere she goes.
The Bloody Jack Adventures are my favorite books and it is not difficult to get lost in this book. Will Jacky and Jaimy finally be married? Only time will tell! I cannot wait for Jacky's next adventure.
If you have come this far you are hooked. The details are great. There are heart stoppers all over the place. That @$%#@%@ Flashby shows up. Will somebody kindly murder that pultroon!
We are enjoying this series on recorded books. We take one for each road trip for summer vacation. The Jacky Faber stories are a big hit with everyone - ages 8, teens, 20's, 30's, and 50's.
I LOVE this serious. If you haven't read them yet, get the entire series at one time so you don't have to wait around for the next book to get delivered after you finish the first! And be glad that the series is finally done, I'd finish one book and have to wait over a year until the next one was published.
Let me make one thing clear...the "sexual content" is all innuendo - every one of these books in this series will capture your heart and take you on an adventure. This one is my favorite because she dives for treasure and meets pirates.
Still love the Bloody Jack books! Jacky is as spunky and carefree as ever.
This one bogged down a bit here and there trying to remind the reader of everything that happened in the past -- Jacky has had a lot of adventures, but all-in-all, it was another fun read as Jacky searched for sunken treasure. I enjoyed the new characters Jemimah and Joanie. I look forward to reading more about them in future books. I liked the Briar Rabbit stories told by Jemimah. It was like getting a story in a story.
Note Cockfighting is a part of the story, so some might not enjoy reading about that.
I am constantly amazed at how Mr. Meyer can keep Jacky's adventures straight. I look forward to reading the next one!
