This book was OK, it was well written and the characters were likable.

My problem with the story was a personal dislike. I don't really care for stories were the hero has to "ruin" the heroine - which I knew was the main theme of the series, so this was not a surprise. Another thing I don't care for is when the hero was in love with someone else first - I like the once in a lifetime/soulmates kind of love. Not that I haven't read books were either the H/h was in love before and have liked the story and believed that they found love again.

I think what ruined this book for me was that Nate was in love with Georgette's sister - I just couldn't get past that. The authors made a really good attempt to show that Nate loved Georgette in a different, deeper way than he loved Anne, but it just wasn't enough for me.

I also think this book just ended a bit too quickly - I felt cheated at the end.

All in all, I didn't hate the book, but it was not a keeper for me either.

This was a great book. It had all the elements, a good plot, love, passion, adventure, redemption and a HEA. I recommend this book.
OK, this story starts off and is going along well with interesting characters, good plot. The hero is typical troubled handsome rake, so is the heroine. Really liked the tough talking reformed ladies maid too. Then with part of the plot line solved the story just ends...ugh that is frustrating. Why do they do that. Solving only half of the problem and no summing up the story..its very frustrating.

I highly recommend this book to read. It captured my attention right away. Super characters. Mia Marlow is a wonderful story teller. She has an interesting way of mixing historical facts with fiction.
You might think this is the same vein as "I have grown up and I want my brother's friend to look at me as a woman". Not so the case. I find this more delightful, you want to read how else Nicholas would pursue Georgi. And Is he doing this because of that threat or just because he could not could not resist her?? read on and find out )
I do like authors who write books in series. You get to know the families, characters, etc. This series is about three ex-soldiers who are in some disgrace and are blackmailed into keeping the three Royal Dukes from marrying innocent young debutantes. All the dukes are roues and debauchees, with many illegitimate children but no legal ones. With the death of George IV's daughter Caroline, there is no direct heir at present. The Royal Dukes (sons of George III) are in a race to marry and produce an heir. How do our heros propose to stop the Dukes from marrying the girls? Seduce and ruin them, of course. However, seduction can lead to more than simply fulfilling the terms of the blackmailer's demand...
